Who is your " I am" that your voice should be heard?

i was recently thinking before i became " mike" i was an innocent baby, then as the days passed slowly by, i developed a sence of " iam".

as the days moved forward my body, slowly developed a a "sex organ" whilst my mind took on a sence of " emotional" and " intellectual" i am" .

this allowed me to become my current " i am?.

As the days moved slowly forward my body, equally slowly developed a "sex organ" whilst my mind took on a sence of " emotional" and " intellectual" I am" . This allowed me to become my current " I am"

Therefore I think it only fair the innocent child I was half a century past, be allowed to ask these questions:-

A) How much do i now know who " I am" ?

B) Is our biological sexual persuasion to be judged by other people's " I am?

C) How many of our political and religious believes are influenced by other people's " I am ?

Ok no longer a baby, I could write this thread usng words like psychoanalytic, or the phenomenological theory of subjectivity to explain my " I am",but I think that's " bottling" it. And I think my following questions are more challenging questions. Why? Because I am not asking that you explain your believes, be you athiest, agnostic or believer. My questions are more complicated :-

A ) Who are You?

B) Why do you believe as you do?

C) Why do you think it important other people believe what you believe?

Here's a view on homosexuality for you...

The Jesus, and self exclaimed proclaimers that " homosexuality" is a sin, should read his words. Yes the words " attributed" to Jesus never spoke of homosexuality.

i don't know much about being homosexual, but I do know in modern theatre, even " Macho" men like Pacino, are more relaxed about themselfs than most here who judge. Watch Pahinos portrayal of a homosexual in " Dog Day Afternnon" the guy like all " homosexuals" doesn't need to prove his masculinity to no one.

And neither do Elton John nor George Michael, both of whom I have met. ( I grew up in watford and new George Michael as a friend of my brother, Elton from the chippy ( when I was a boy off 12 I used to go to the chippy) and in that chippy more than once after watching many a Watford football match Elton used to come in and talk about the game...the only difference from George Michael & Elton to me is they made something of their life's, and took a a lot of media crap a long the way. They were Pacinos, character in dog day Afternnon, they were relaxed about their sexuality. In my opinion people to admire. I don't judge George Michael picking up people in toilets, it's a persons choice. And to like partners of the same sex is not a crime nor is it a reason to hate. However that sort of thinking I believe comes from the more primitive past and our Jehovers Witness mind indoctrination,Today our movies and our entertainment industry's no longer ban a screen kiss, or lyrics about sex, and It's time for many Religions to also grow up...if those Religion dont grow up then they are only promoting hatred.

Beyond the Kingdom Hall.

the religoios lessons themselfs are not missed, they were actually quite dull, and i realize i learnt nothing of value from them.

instead a quite evening at home playing with my boy is more endearing.. yes my life has moved on, i occassionaly see members of my former congregation in shopping centers, or they are putting the kids in to the back of the car and inside i believe most of them have bottled it, they prefer the comfort to the " truth" who am i to expose the can of worms.. many of course can blame parents or grandparents for having grown up as outcasts in school and i hope if they do leave like me they hold no resentment.

indoctrination is a terrible thing, and even false prophecy, royal commissions, and proof that many of the elders in the congregation are complete and utter shits won't change them.

This however no longer baffles me and I am content simply being indifferent to any arguments that are made to prompt my return.

I still bear some resentment to the G.B, and those that belong to the more prosperous positions simply because personally I believe most are leading a double life and are indifferent to the life's they are ruining. However such people exist in all organisations, which is why many organized minded people are attracted to organisation. Politics and business not only religion confirm this.

Now it is my first summer " beyond" the Kingdom Hall walls, and when I see a pub in the evening I will stop there and no longer rush home to prepare for a meeting. A Guinness in a pub has introduced me to some of life's most wonderful characters.

I do appreciate many here who have doubts have a lot to be slaughtered about if they leave. The personal "shit" is the part of the journey I won't judge. As for the factual stuff you must be aware of it, otherwise you wouldn't be here.

So I have started this O.P hoping others like me will have magnificent testimonies on how there life's have improved, however I am sure many have struggled and sadly life may be pretty miserable. Both testimonies are equally appreciated. The important thing is it takes guts and courage to move on, and happy endings can't be guaranteed, but each posters testimony is of equal value and the " lucky bastards" like me I hope are not the few.

i don't usually anti-witness anymore, but being out of town and bored i went up and introduced myself to a couple of sisters " trolly witnessing" then a voice from behind me spoke " if you don't mind i think i was in front of you".

i stepped back, apologising as i did so, and decided to continue with my day.. anyway this trivial incident i post because it may be quite unique, i mean i really can't imagine anywhere else in the world where people are queing up to speak to these people manning " trolly carts" can you?.

and on the whole i think that's a good thing, even if he was ahead of me only to anti-witness?.

Pete Zahut, great minds think alike. Admitadly your post was a slightly more direct way of making my point with Perry than yours . However I think the interesting observation was:-

A) Most sensible posters on this forum ignored my O.P.

B) Perry got 3 " green" likes for his comment and not one " red" dis-like.

So my point is I love the intelligent points you make "Pete Zahut" on this forum, but this time your point of view seemed very aggressive " people being slaughtered and all that" Oh sorry that was what Perry thinks.

Correction: Learning lesson. Perry only said he was grateful for learning about " a paradise earth" he never said any of the stuff about believing in Jehovers Witness and Armaggedon crap.

Love your posts " PETE ZAHUT" and as its Eurovision Song Contest tonight, it's a family " PiIZZA" watching the crap. ( I mean musical talent) any body else watching this tonight. It's better than preparing for a Watchtoer study. ( And that's saying a lot)

The Rebel ( A) Possibly converting to a religion is based upon interest with self, and the prospect of a paradise earth does have great appeal to self. Maybe this is why seemingly innocent questions can touch upon a persons sensibility, and why the emotional impact, manages to dismiss the ovbiouse stupidity of what's being said?

p.s :-I think Jehovers witnesses in field service delivering a false message can do great harm, particularly if they take the time and trouble to follow up with a bible study. Being sincere and being sincerly wrong is a dangerous combination.

On this site so many times people have exposed their virginity. Often teenage witnesses having to debate the existence of God with atheists. Most times more mature members offer support and kind words, even on occasion unintentially supporting the occasional " bullshitter".

Personally I would rather support 1000, bullshiters than let one genuine cry from the heart go unheard. Therefore on this occasion I think it was so wrong " shutting down a post" of such importance, and personally i hope it's restored.

I should mention why I decided to give up anti-witnessing. I had ticked all the boxes to helping my friend see the light ( false prophecy, royal commission, proof that some of the elders in the congregation were complete and utter shits, only to receive the " I hope to make it through Armageddon reply". Let's cut the story short, the guy is once again back to being oblivious to reality, I was so close, yet unable to break his indoctrination.

I now believe he was paronoid, that he generally belived despite all I said,that I may someday return to the K.H. Then the paranoia set in, and he thinks our confidential discussions would be revealed to the elders. To complicate " anti witnessing" further I then realized his learning exsperience were complicated by his wife, kids, family, all being indoctrinated. I concluded my efforts were not needed.

This is why I have decided to stop anti-witnessing. I realize others who may want to leave may have too much to get slaughtered over. So if they have doubts they also need to work out a lot of personal shit also . The personal " shit" is the part of the journey you can't judge, and as for the other factual stuff, well they have to be blind not to spot it.

Thankful for my babies

i hope everyone is having a good day/night.

so i was just reflecting on how happy i am to have my babies, despite the orgs.

not so subtle requests that married couples not have babies in order to further serve the org.

It always stuck me as the most heartless, un- compassionate request to ask a young couple they deny themselfs the opportunity of creating a family. Sadly unless you have experienced this wonderful, most meaningful pleasure you can never appreciate, the loss. It's unbelievable, having a child both the pleasure and worry. Oh the times my boy has had his operations, been put to sleep , fortunately for minor operations, but particularly when he was a baby, it always made me appreciate sitting by his side at a hospital bed when he woke up.

Yesterday the operation was a broken arm, some metal parts had to be put in, but they put him to sleep and it was that terrible hour while they operated that I had this terrible fear, and realized how lucky I am to have my boy. Sitting by his side as he awoke from the operation was the best feeling in the world. And his first words to me when he woke from the operation were " Hello Matey" ( a word often used by pirates to address friends)

Any organisation that encourages its members not to have a child is pure and simply evil.
